townships and soccer
hey friends, sorry it’s been a few days! crazy busy here. it’s been LEGEN- let me finish…..DAIRY.
we’ve been doing quite a bit of documenting the last few days. with home visits, aid’s ministry, soccer team interviews….and so on.
since i’m a few days behind, let me just share some photos of what’s been goin’ down…

sorry there aren’t stories for each photo. i’ll try to do better. we are rushed for time today. but here’s a quick re-cap of each one…
1) on wednesday we did a build with Habitat for Humanity in the township of Mufaline (spelling?). that is one of the TNHF team members, Kirsten playing with a local child during one of our breaks.
2) on thursday we did home visits for the Hospice affiliated with the church, bringing parcels of food for those who can not make the trip over. this was the mother of a 25 year old girl who has HIV and Cancer.
3) shauwn is one of 11 kids being taken care of by Priscilla, a single mother. 6 of the kids are HIV orphans, and he was the first…one she found in a dumpster. he is pretty amazing, and likes to cause trouble in the house!
4) we were invited to watch a soccer match between some kids….most of which were not wearing shoes!
5) this is most of the JL Zwane Soccer team in Gugulethu.
(ok, so those were SORT of stories…yah?)
more to come-

Is that Kirsten from slo? It looks like her. Laura and I totally know her (although I doubt she’d remember either of us.) Hows it going out there??? A question I though of for you yesterday, what crazy kinds of food are you having to eat?
