back in may, i shot the new band, the young veins (ex-panic at the disco members) for alternative press. it was pretty darn fun! their debut album is called “take a vacation” so i tried to tie in various elements that go along with vacationing. over a few locations we enjoyed coffee, wiffle ball, hiking, bocce ball, and some vintage cokes (amongst many others). pretty chill. pretty fun. here’s some shots, as well as the actual article. check it before you wreck it.

This last weekend, Alternative Press sent me to the Warped Tour stop in Ventura, CA. Perfect overcast day, around 70 degrees of awesome. A great setting to capture “A Day in the Life of” The Rocket Summer.

Really fun project AP is gonna do on Warped this summer. I was stoked to do one of (if not) the first, and it was even better hanging for the day with one of my closest friends, Bryce Avary.

a few months back i was enjoying a little pacific northwest vacation. i decided to surprise my gal and take her to see angels and airwaves and say anything. we spent the evening with my good buddy tom wisniewski and enjoyed us a good ole’ rock show.

in the summer of 2008, i was given the extreme pleasure to travel alongside These Numbers Have Faces to South Africa, to document their work with the JL Zwane soccer club. These Numbers’ vision is that young people around the world will have access to a quality education and learn the skills needed to reduce poverty in their own communities. i thought that during the world cup, it was a fitting time to re-post some of these photos, and bring awareness to my friends non-profit that is striving to do good things by partnering with a group, not just giving a handout. i sincerely ask you to take a few minutes to check out their site, and see if you can get involved! (its as easy as donating $5 a month! to help change a families life, and help sponsor a kid to go to college!!!!!) the few weeks i spent there affected me forever. maybe your time is close at hand. thanks for your time. enjoy the world cup. and enjoy the photos!
